The Ukrainian Choir of Saint John — preserving heritage, sharing culture, uniting voices
The ART LAB Choir “Oberih” is a dedicated Ukrainian choir created to celebrate, preserve, and share the rich musical heritage of Ukraine with the community of Saint John and the province of New Brunswick.
Our choir brings together children, youth, and adults who want to sing in a welcoming, supportive, and artistically inspiring environment. While the choir’s foundation is deeply rooted in Ukrainian choral traditions, our repertoire also includes songs from world music, classical arrangements, contemporary pieces, and multicultural works, allowing singers to explore global musical expression.
What Makes Our Choir Special
“Oberih” represents the Ukrainian community while embracing the multicultural spirit of Canada. We sing Ukrainian music with pride — from ancient folk songs to modern arrangements — and we also perform pieces from diverse cultures and languages, reflecting the shared stories of our community.
